Fiery-billed Aracari
Pteroglossus frantziiAlso known as Fiery-billed Araçari, Frantzius's Aracari
Fiery-billed Aracaris travel through the forest canopy in small, noisy social groups of up to ten individuals, often following each other in single-file flight. Their striking orange-red and yellow bills are used to pluck ripe fruits, which they toss into the air and swallow whole. During the breeding season, these cooperative breeders nest in old woodpecker holes, where multiple adults may help raise a single clutch of chicks.
