Yellow-throated toucans spend their days high in the rainforest canopy, hopping between branches in small, boisterous family groups to pluck ripe fruit. Their resonant, frog-like yelping calls carry over a kilometer across the forest, establishing territory and coordinating flock movements. During breeding, pairs nest high above ground in natural tree hollows or abandoned woodpecker cavities, sharing incubation and nest-defense duties.
