Toco Toucan

Toco toucans are iconic South American birds recognized by their massive, vibrant yellow-orange bills, which function as thermoregulatory radiators to dump body heat in warm climates. They travel in small, noisy flocks through semi-open savannas and river corridors, calling to each other with deep, frog-like croaks. Highly versatile foragers, they toss palm fruits into the air before swallowing them whole and occasionally raid nests for eggs and chicks.
