Swanleaf Clouding Sage
Salvia yangiiAlso known as Russian Sage, Silver Sage
Russian sage forms airy drifts of silvery stems crowned with delicate lavender-blue floral spires from midsummer through autumn. Tiny glandular hairs coat the square stems and grayish foliage, releasing a pungent herbal scent reminiscent of sage and lavender when brushed or crushed. Native to the dry steppes and gravelly hills of Central Asia, this resilient subshrub thrives in full sun and rocky, nutrient-poor soil where few other blooms endure.
