Magnolia soulangeana
magnolia × soulangeanaAlso known as Saucer Magnolia, Tulip Magnolia, Chinese Magnolia Tree
Saucer magnolias burst into a dramatic display of goblet-shaped flowers in early spring before their foliage emerges. Hybrids created by crossing parent species produce large blooms ranging from creamy white to deep rose-purple. As the heavy petals drop, broad leaves unfold to form a dense canopy that casts cooling shade throughout the summer.
