Also known as Balkan Wild Goat, Balkan Mountain Goat

Balkan chamois navigate vertical alpine crags with specialized rubbery hooves that grip shear rock faces effortlessly. Small herds move between high subalpine meadows in summer and steep timberlines during winter to escape heavy snowfall. Their distinctive hooked horns and contrasting black-and-white facial markings make them striking emblems of the Balkan mountains.
