Marsh Pink

Sabatia stellaris

Also known as Rose of Plymouth, Salt-Marsh Pink, Sea-Pink

Marsh pink blooms brightly along Atlantic and Gulf Coast salt marshes, opening star-like rose-pink blossoms with vibrant yellow centers outlined in red. These annual wildflowers thrive in brackish soils where tides briefly flood the roots, attracting bees and butterflies throughout late summer. Their slender, branched stems enable them to withstand strong coastal winds while displaying dozens of delicate flowers.
