Eurasian running crab spiders are agile arboreal hunters that sprint across leaves and bark to seize small insects without using capture webs. Mature individuals exhibit dramatic sexual dimorphism, with velvety black, white-bordered males contrasting sharply against cryptic, mottled brown females. In early summer, females spin lenticular silk egg cocoons hidden under foliage or within bark crevices and stand guard until spiderlings emerge.
