Lamington spiny crayfish dwell in the cool, elevated rainforest streams of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. While famous for their vivid sky-blue carapaces, individuals can also sport brilliant orange, bright red, or dark brown hues depending on their local creek catchment. During wet weather, these robust freshwater crustaceans venture onto the damp forest floor to forage, establish new territories, and seek out mates.
