Clustered Mountainmint

Clustered mountainmint produces powdery, silvery-white floral bracts that look dusted with frost throughout mid to late summer, framing dense heads of tiny, pink-spotted white blossoms. Its dark green foliage emits an intense, refreshing spearmint aroma whenever brushed or crushed, a chemical defense rich in pulegone and other essential oils that deter deer and rabbits. Renowned as one of the most prolific nectar sources in eastern North America, a single clump frequently buzzes with dozens of distinct native bee, wasp, fly, and butterfly species at once.
