Yellow Mussaenda

Pseudomussaenda flava

Also known as Dwarf Yellow Mussaenda, White Wing

Yellow mussaenda is a sprawling tropical shrub native to central and eastern tropical Africa, cherished for its striking contrast of floral structures. The true flowers are modest, star-shaped yellow trumpets, but they are flanked by greatly enlarged, creamy-white petaloid sepals that act as decorative signaling flags for visiting pollinators. It flowers profusely throughout the year in frost-free climates, establishing readily along sun-drenched forest edges, thickets, and landscaped borders.
