Yellow Parasol Mushroom

Bright yellow and delicate, yellow parasol mushrooms frequently erupt in indoor flowerpots and greenhouses after warm waterings. These saprotrophic fungi break down organic matter in potting soil, releasing nutrients that benefit surrounding plant roots without causing harm to the vegetation. Their tiny umbrella-like caps open rapidly and collapse within a few days, leaving behind fine yellow spores.
