Red-whiskered bulbuls feature a tall black crest, striking red cheek patches, and a bright red vent that make them instantly recognizable across tropical gardens and forest edges. These social passerines gather in cheerful vocal flocks, bouncing among tree branches while delivering loud, melodic three- or four-note calls. Highly adaptable frugivores, they thrive in suburban landscapes and secondary growth, frequently nesting in low garden shrubs.
