Green Long-jawed Orbweaver

Tetragnatha viridis

Also known as Green Longjawed Orbweaver, Green Tetragnatha

Green long-jawed orbweavers are vibrant emerald-green spiders easily recognized by their elongated bodies and remarkably long chelicerae. Found primarily in forested regions and wetlands across the eastern United States, they often stretch their legs straight along pine needles or grass to seamlessly blend into foliage. They construct delicate, inclined orb webs near water or pine trees, patiently waiting for small flying insects.
