Russet Perchers display rich reddish-brown wings with clear tips, often seen resting on twigs near shaded forest streams and swampy pools across Asia. Males actively defend small territories along sunlit patches of water, darting out to capture small insects before returning to the same perch. Females lay eggs directly into calm, vegetated water bodies where aquatic nymphs hunt submerged invertebrates.
