Barbary falcons inhabit arid deserts, rocky canyons, and coastal cliffs from the Canary Islands across North Africa to the Middle East. Highly adapted to dry terrain, these swift raptors hunt small to medium-sized birds by plunging into high-speed aerial stoops. Pairs defend permanent territories year-round and nest on sheer cliff ledges without building true nests.
