Fasciated Haworthia
Haworthiopsis fasciataAlso known as Zebra Plant, Zebra Haworthia, Fasciated Zebra Succulent
Fasciated Haworthia forms compact, rosette-shaped clusters of thick, triangular dark green leaves adorned with striking horizontal white ridges on their outer faces. Endemic to South Africa's Eastern Cape, this slow-growing succulent thrives in the sheltered shade of subtropical thickets and rocky scree slopes. Unlike its widespread relative Haworthiopsis attenuata, the upper surfaces of its leaves remain completely smooth.

- Why interaction risk is low
- Safe to observe at a normal distance.
- What to notice
- Look for stiff rosettes with prominent white bands on the outside leaf surfaces and smooth inner faces.
- Support conservation
- Never collect specimens from the wild and stick to designated paths when exploring wild habitats.
Responsible observation
- Leaf Inspection: Feel the inner upper leaf face to confirm it is smooth rather than bumpy.
- Ethical Sourcing: Buy cultivated plants from reputable nurseries to avoid supporting wild poaching.
