Pink trailing iceplant blankets sunny landscapes with a low carpet of succulent, cylindrical leaves that shimmer under direct sun. Brilliant magenta blooms open during the heat of the day to attract pollinators, then close tightly at dusk and during overcast weather. Native to high-elevation South African grasslands, its fleshy roots store moisture to ensure rapid recovery after drought or severe disturbance.
