German Chamomile

German chamomile carpets sunny fields and disturbed soils across Eurasia with feathery, delicate foliage and bright daisy-like flower heads. The hollow, conical flower centers release a distinct sweet apple scent when crushed between fingers. Small solitary bees and hoverflies frequently visit the golden central disks from late spring through late summer.
