Seductive Entodon Moss

Entodon seductrix

Also known as Round-stem Silk Moss, Corded Silk Moss

Seductive entodon moss forms glossy, bright yellow-green to bronze mats that hug tree bark, rotting logs, and shaded stone across eastern North America. Its cylindrical, cord-like branches possess tightly overlapping leaves that give each shoot a sleek, smooth appearance even during dry spells. In autumn and winter, colonies frequently produce abundant upright sporophytes topped with deep reddish-brown capsules that disperse spores on moist breezes.
