Brookesia Leaf Chameleon
Brookesia micraAlso known as Nosy Hara Leaf Chameleon, Micro Chameleon, Tiny Leaf Chameleon
Nosy Hara leaf chameleons are among the smallest reptiles on Earth, navigating the leaf litter of a single limestone islet off northern Madagascar. During the day, these tiny, brown-mottled lizards forage for microscopic invertebrates among decaying leaves, relying on superb camouflage to blend in with their forest floor habitat. At night, they climb into low branches and twigs just a few inches off the ground to sleep, safe from ground-dwelling predators.

Never touch or move these delicate reptiles, and keep strictly to designated trails to avoid trampling them.- Watch the Ground: Scan the leaf litter very slowly, as their movement is almost imperceptible.
- Night Spotting: Look for them sleeping on low twigs at night when their pale color stands out.
- Do Not Touch: Avoid handling these extremely fragile lizards to prevent accidental injury.
