Caucasian agamas are robust, spiky-scaled lizards adapted to harsh rocky habitats across the Caucasus and Central Asia. They bask prominently on boulder outcrops and cliff faces during the heat of the day, darting into deep rock crevices at the first sign of danger. Males display territorial dominance through rhythmic head-bobbing and inflating dark throat pouches to ward off rivals.
