Echeveria agavoides

Also known as Lipstick Echeveria, Molded Wax Agave, Wax Agave

Echeveria agavoides forms dense, stemless rosettes of thick, apple-green triangular leaves that culminate in pointed reddish or purplish tips. Native to steep, rocky terrain in the Mexican highlands, it utilizes Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) to open stomata exclusively at night, sharply minimizing water loss. In late spring and summer, mature rosettes send up slender pinkish-red stalks bearing urn-shaped flowers rich in nectar.
