Golden trumpet-trees stage one of the Neotropics' most theatrical displays, dropping all their foliage during the dry season before bursting into a synchronized canopy of luminous yellow blossoms. This mass flowering lasts only a few days to a couple of weeks, triggering a frenzy of pollination activity from native bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies across the dry forest canopy. Renowned for extremely dense, durable timber, mature wild trees face persistent pressure from illegal logging despite their iconic cultural stature.
