Wahlberg's eagles are slender, agile raptors that display a striking variety of plumage morphs ranging from pale cream to deep chocolate brown. They spend the breeding season in sub-Saharan savanna woodlands, perching high in tree canopies to hunt lizards, birds, and small mammals. When the dry season arrives, these dedicated migrants travel thousands of kilometers north to spend the non-breeding period in West and Central Africa.
