Bacopa forms a dense trailing carpet of miniature heart-shaped foliage punctuated by a profusion of small, star-like blossoms. In its native southern African coastal habitat, it cascades over rocky outcroppings and moist banks, blooming persistently across warm months. Widely cultivated globally as a trailing container plant, it acts as a valuable nectar provider for diminutive native bees and hoverflies.
