Farewell-To-Spring paints western coastal hillsides in shades of silky pink and purple just as winter rains end and grasses dry into summer gold. Each cup-shaped blossom features four broad petals often marked with a bright magenta streak near the center, attracting native bees and butterflies. These fast-growing annuals seed prolifically across dry slopes, coastal bluffs, and open oak woodlands.
