Masson's Pine

Masson's pine is a dominant evergreen conifer widespread across the subtropical hillsides of southern China and northern Vietnam. Its long, slender needles grow in pairs and rustle in the wind, while older trunks feature deeply fissured, reddish-brown bark. Highly valued for timber, rosin, and soil stabilization, it readily colonizes disturbed acid soils where few other trees thrive.
