Cone bracket fungi form striking, funnel-shaped fruiting bodies with distinct concentric bands of yellow, brown, and chestnut across their thin upper surfaces. Supported by a slender yellow-to-tan stalk, these glossy brackets grow on fallen hardwood branches throughout tropical rainforests. As essential saprotrophs, they break down tough wood fibers and recycle vital nutrients back into the forest floor.
