Speckled pigeons gather in active foraging flocks across open ground and farmlands, sifting for dropped seeds, fallen grain, and succulent plant shoots. Adults display distinctive triangular white spots across maroon-brown wing coverts, accentuated by a striking collar of bifurcated, reddish-bronze neck feathers. Pairs nest colonially on sheer rock ledges or high building rooftops, frequently performing steep display glides with loud wing claps during courtship.
