Lesser Chameleon
Furcifer minorAlso known as Minor Chameleon
Lesser chameleons display dramatic sexual dimorphism, with males sporting two flattened rostral horns and females developing vivid mosaic patterns of yellow, red, and electric blue when receptive or gravid. Confined to the threatened tapia woodlands of central Madagascar, they spend their days navigating slender branches with zygodactylous feet while hunting insects with an explosive tongue strike. During the dry winter season, activity slows markedly as temperatures drop across their high-plateau habitat.
