Carpet chameleons are vibrant, active lizards that navigate the shrubs and grasses of Madagascar with remarkable agility. While males display a modest green and white pattern, females exhibit an astonishing array of neon blues, yellows, and reds, particularly when gravid or signaling their breeding status. These solitary reptiles spend their days hunting small insects using their long, projectile tongues and independently rotating eyes.
