Arabian horned vipers navigate shifting sand deserts using an efficient sidewinding motion, leaving distinctive parallel J-shaped tracks across the dunes. Buried beneath the sand with only their eyes and horn-like supraorbital scales exposed, these nocturnal predators lie in ambush for passing rodents and lizards. Their potent venom quickly immobilizes prey before it can escape into the harsh desert environment.
