Charonosaurus jiayinensis
Charonosaurus jiayinensisCharonosaurus jiayinensis roamed the lush river valleys of eastern Asia at the very end of the Cretaceous period. Equipped with a long, backward-projecting cranial crest likely used to amplify low-frequency calls, this immense duck-billed dinosaur lived in herds and browsed tough floodplain vegetation. Its massive limb proportions indicate an ability to alternate between quadrupedal browsing and bipedal locomotion when fleeing predators.
