Homo floresiensis
Homo floresiensisAlso known as Flores Man, Hobbit
Homo floresiensis stood roughly one meter tall with an exceptionally small braincase, representing an extraordinary example of insular dwarfism in an isolated island environment. Archaeological remains reveal sophisticated stone tool manufacture, controlled fire use, and cooperative foraging strategies. Living alongside giant storks and Komodo dragons, this hominin adapted effectively to the forested karst terrain of ancient Flores until disappearing around 50,000 years ago.
