Caucasian stonecrop forms dense, low-growing carpets of fleshy leaves that root wherever trailing stems touch bare earth. In mid to late summer, terminal clusters of star-shaped pink to purplish flowers rise above the foliage, drawing in a wide variety of native bees, hoverflies, and butterflies. Native to rocky slopes and subalpine meadows of the Caucasus and northern Iran, it readily colonizes dry stonework and gravel gardens across temperate regions worldwide.
