Peperomia argyreia
Peperomia argyreiaAlso known as Watermelon Begonia
Watermelon peperomias blanket tropical rainforest floors in South America with fleshy, oval leaves featuring radiant silver stripes that mimic a watermelon rind. Long, deep crimson stems attach directly to the underside of each leaf blade, lifting the foliage off the humid forest soil. During summer, narrow green spikes bearing hundreds of microscopic flowers rise gracefully above the canopy.
