Saltmarsh mallow thrives in brackish coastal marshes where few other flowering perennials can tolerate high salinity levels. Its pale pink blossoms open during sunny daylight hours, attracting native bumblebees and butterflies throughout midsummer to early autumn. Deep root systems anchor the plant firmly against tidal surges while storing resources to resprout each spring.
