Chinese asters produce showy, composite flower heads in shades of purple, pink, red, and white. Native to eastern Asia, these annuals thrive in cool summer conditions and attract a wide variety of insect pollinators. They develop leafy, branched stems topped by long-lasting daisy-like or pom-pom floral displays through late summer.
