Indian Pennywort
Centella asiaticaAlso known as Asiatic Pennywort, Gotu Kola, Spadeleaf, Coinwort
Indian pennywort forms low, dense mats across saturated soils, spreading horizontally via slender stolons that root freely at the nodes. Its kidneys-shaped to rounded leaves rest on long petioles, catching dappled sunlight in swampy margins and stream borders. Minute pink to white flowers cluster inconspicuously close to the ground, giving way to tiny ribbed fruits dispersed by rainwater and wetland animals.
