Largeflower false rosemary is an aromatic, woody shrub endemic to the ancient sandy dunes of eastern and central Florida. Pale lavender to blue two-lipped blossoms speckled with dark purple spots burst open across its needle-like foliage primarily from late winter through spring. Highly adapted to fire-maintained Florida scrub, it relies on open sunny clearings and releases a pungent piney fragrance when its resinous leaves are disturbed.
