Allium senescens
Allium senescensAlso known as Aging Chive, German Garlic, Broadleaf Chives, Dumebuchu
German garlic produces dense, spherical clusters of soft pink to lilac blooms perched atop sturdy stems in late summer. Strap-like gray-green leaves twist slightly as they mature, forming low, attractive clumps across rocky slopes and sunny gravelly habitats. The nectar-rich flowers draw abundant bees, hoverflies, and butterflies while the foliage releases a distinct aromatic scent when brushed.
