Striped Barbados Lily

Striped Barbados lilies produce luminous salmon-orange, trumpet-shaped blossoms marked by a pale yellowish-green star at the center of each flower head. Arising from perennial underground bulbs in Brazil's Atlantic Forest, these plants send up hollow stalks bearing up to four nodding blooms in late winter or early spring. Broad, strap-like leaves form a neat basal rosette that persists long after the short-lived floral display fades.
