Tiger lilies produce striking, nodding orange blossoms covered in purplish-black spots, with dramatically recurved petals that expose long stamens. Small bulbils form in the upper leaf axils along the sturdy central stem, allowing the plant to clone itself easily without setting seed. Native to East Asia, this hardy perennial frequently escapes gardens to naturalize along roadsides, stream banks, and forest edges.
