Crested finchbills are social montane songbirds easily recognized by their prominent crest, stout ivory bill, and olive-green plumage. They travel through highland forest edges, clearings, and thickets in small, noisy parties that frequently forage together. Their loud, melodious whistles echo through the mountain canopy long before the birds themselves come into view.
