Goodfellow's tree-kangaroos navigate high rainforest canopies using broad forepaws, long curved claws, and an elongated tail that provides balance across mossy branches. Mothers raise a single joey inside an anterior pouch for nearly a year, teaching the youngster to forage on nutrient-dense leaves and wild fruits. Rapid expansion of agriculture and localized hunting have fragmented their montane habitat, pushing these colorful marsupials into increasingly isolated mountain strongholds.
