White's Tree Frog
Litoria caeruleaAlso known as Australian Green Tree Frog, Dumpy Tree Frog, Smiling Tree Frog
These large, docile amphibians are famous for their plump, folds-of-skin appearance and calm demeanor, often spending their days tucked into moist, shaded crevices. Their skin has a waxy coating that helps them retain moisture, allowing them to survive in drier environments than most other tree frogs. During the summer breeding season, males produce a deep, repetitive barking call from hollow trees or downpipes to attract mates.
