Pig Frog

Pig frogs spend almost their entire lives submerged or basking on floating vegetation across southern swamps and marshes. Males produce a distinctive low grunt that sounds remarkably like a pig snorting, calling in chorus during warm spring and summer nights. Fully webbed hind feet allow them to navigate thick lily pad beds with ease while stalking aquatic prey.
