Zebra Jumping Spider
Salticus scenicusAlso known as Zebra Spider
Zebra jumping spiders stalk sunny vertical surfaces like walls, fence posts, and tree bark in search of prey. They hunt using extraordinary stereoscopic vision from four large forward-facing eyes, leaping up to twenty times their own body length to pounce without building webs. Before jumping, they anchor a silk dragline to the substrate to serve as a safety tether if they miss their target.
