Trochosa ruricolaRustic wolf spiders are robust ground-dwelling hunters that stalk insects across damp soil, leaf litter, and garden borders. Rather than building capture webs, these nocturnal arachnids rely on keen eyesight and rapid speed to overpower prey before retreating to shallow burrows under rocks. Females exhibit dedicated maternal care, carrying their egg sacs attached to their spinnerets and later transporting newly hatched spiderlings on their backs.
